“Dr. Altenbern has gone above and beyond for me and I would not trust anyone else!”

Laparoscopic Surgeries
Laparoscopic Surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that is also used for the diagnosis of conditions like endometriosis. Dr. Altenbern performs laparoscopic surgery rather than open surgery for many common gynecological conditions including, endometriosis, cyst removal, and fibroid removal.

Why Choose Laparoscopic Surgery?
Unlike open surgery, laparoscopic involves smaller incisions reducing bleeding, pain, and recovery time.
How is this different than Robotic Surgery?
In a robotic surgery, Dr. Altenbern controls robotic arms holding surgical tools, and in Laparoscopic Surgery, Dr. Altenbern Holds the surgical instruments.
How Does it work?
Once under general anesthesia, Dr. Altenbern creates small incision in the navel area, and in some surfers two more on the side. Then, Dr. Altenbern places a lighted laparoscope with a miniature camera, that sends images to a video monitor during the procedure, through the incisions to perform the surgery necessary.
