Pelvic Prolapse

Pelvic prolapse is when the uterus, bladder, or rectum have lost some of their support. This can cause a vaginal bulge, urinary incontinence, pelvic pressure, and lower abdominal or back pain.

Kegel exercises are exercises to strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor.

A Pessary, is a silicone device that is inserted into the vagina to help keep the prolapse from coming out.

​

Surgery is the definitive  way to correct pelvic prolapse. This may include a hysterectomy, cystocele repair, rectocele repair, or sling (bladder tack).
